Creating an Intentional Home: Showcasing Your Memories with Jessica Ryles Photography

One of the big reasons I became a newborn photographer was my love of family, connection, and home. Your home is more than just a picture-perfect space - it's a space filled with memories, children's toys scattered on the wall, sticky walls with pencil marks showing how your children have grown over the years, and a space that we work to make warm and welcoming. That's why at Jessica Ryles Photography, I focus on helping you create an intentional home that showcases your family's story through heirloom albums and stunning wall art. We work to to embrace the beauty of life's flaws and imperfections and celebrate the love and connection you create every day.

Heirloom Albums: A Love Letter to Your Family

One of my favorite activities is cuddling on the couch with my children and looking at their baby albums. Quite frankly, I think it’s one of their favorite activities too. Each time they bring me their album, and ask me to recite the stories of what they were like when they were little, I am struck by their fascination with who they were and how they have grown.

Heirloom albums are the perfect way to keep your cherished memories close to your heart. I selected these albums specifically because of their durability over time. They can be handled by my children frequently, and I am never worried about whether the albums will hold up. These albums are made with gorgeous and durable materials, and their pages are thick which means I don’t have to worry about bent corners. The paper is heirloom quality, and I know that the colors won’t fade over time, and as an added bonus the natural oils that are on are fingers won’t smudge the images. The spines are lay-flat, ensuring that they won’t crease and bend over time.

These beautiful albums not only preserve your family's story, but also serve as a love letter to your family, reminding you of the love and connection that binds you together. Somehow looking at a few images on a computer just doesn’t compare.

Canvas Wall Art: Creating a Warm and Welcoming Home

What we put on our walls and shelves tells the world what we value. Studies have shown that children who see photographs of themselves up in their home have higher self-esteem (David Krauss and Jerry Fryrear, PhotoTherapy Techniques: Exploring the Secrets of Personal Snapshots and Family Albums). And of course, it brings us immense joy when we see our loved ones images every day.

One of my favorite mediums for this is canvas wall art. These stunning pieces not only showcase your maternity and newborn photos, but also add warmth and personality to your living space. By surrounding yourself with images of the people you love, you intentionally create a home that fosters a sense of belonging and embraces the beautiful chaos of family life.

Framed Wall Art: Timeless Elegance Meets the Joy of Imperfection

The one thing I tell my clients over and over again is to consider how they want to enjoy their images over the next 5, 10, 20 years. And while our home design will likely change over the years, furniture will come and go, we will move, and the layout of our home may change, our personal sense of style will not. We create images that utilize colors and style that you naturally gravitate toward, and avoid trends that will look dated years from now.
This way, when you have a framed piece, it can move with you through all the seasons of your life. Custom framed wall art combines timeless style with the joy and warmth of your most precious memories. Display your maternity and newborn photos in a way that not only enhances your home decor but also serves as a constant reminder of the love, laughter, and togetherness that define your family's story.
And always remember that not every photograph on your wall needs to be of professional quality. The candids we take on our own can easily be combined with our classic portraiture to showcase all your families memories, not just the ones that were perfectly styled.

Creating an Intentional and Meaningful Home

At Jessica Ryles Photography, I believe in the value of preserving memories and creating an intentional home filled with love and laughter. Investing in heirloom albums, canvas wall art, and framed wall art is not just about decorating your home - it's about embracing the beauty of life's imperfections, cherishing the fleeting moments, and creating a warm, inviting space that tells your family's story.
It’s so easy to get caught up in taking thousands of videos and pictures. I’m guilty of it too. But I know those thousands of videos and photos will likely stay forever on the cloud, destined to forever stay in small virtual folder. My goal is for all my clients to become curators of their own photographs, and really think about how to best preserve their favorite memories.
