FAQs

How are you handling COVID-19?

I am vaccinated against Covid-19 and will continue to stay up to date on boosters as they are released.

As for COVID safety protocol, not terribly much has changed. I still thoroughly sanitize and disinfect all props, backdrops, and equipment between each shoot, and hand sanitzer will continue to be a key staple in my photogrpahy kit. I also do my best to currently work either outdoors or in a well ventilated area to ensure good airflow.  Now that cases are low, masks are used by me and my team at client discretion.

Client ease and comfort is a top priority for me. If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding safety or my COVID protocols please don't hesitate to ask.  I am happy to try and make whatever accomodations are needed for families to feel safe during their session.

Do you sell digital hi-res images?

Yes! Digital high resolution image collections are offered for every session.

What safety measures do you take?

I recognize that it takes an enormous amount of trust to hand over your brand new baby to someone. I take that trust very seriously. I am fully vaccinated, and I get my flu shot every year. If I am ever sick (which is rare), I will notify you immediately, and we will reschedule, or I will find a replacement photographer to work with you. I take newborn workshops to ensure the posing and wrapping techniques are safe and will never put strain on baby's neck, chest, hips or legs.  I will never pose your baby in a way that may put them at risk.

When is the ideal time to schedule our newborn session?

Typically the best time is between 7-10 days after your baby is born. This short window helps to avoid the 2 week growth spurt after which baby tends to become more alert and wakeful.

What if my newborn is older?

Not to worry! I've worked with babies as old a month old. While our session might take a bit longer, and we may have more wrapped or awake poses, we will still end up with plenty of beautiful images for you to cherish.

Where do you take your photos?

I now have a wonderful home studio!  My posing table is right nearby a couch where parents can sit and relax or watch as I photograph their little one.  No need to worry about whether you have all the baby supplies, I have a changing table, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, even gripe water on site, to help make sure your first trip out with baby is easy and stress-free.

Oh my goodness, you must love babies so much it must be so hard to give the baby back!!!

The truth is honestly...no (gasp!)? I like babies just fine, and I am fabulous with them, but I'm MORE than ready to hand them back to you after each session. I've had two of my own, and coached numerous friends and family through sleep-issues, feeding problems, and just about every gross thing a child can throw at you. I do not suffer from baby-rabies. I do newborn photography because I love supporting new parents when they are feeling the most vulnerable. I do newborn photography because I love capturing that beautiful raw emotion that happens between parents and their children. I love creating images that have so much value to families. THAT is why I do newborn photography.
